Healing Body Image Issues - A Journey to Self-Love

The Journey to Self-Acceptance

Born in a place where self-expression often felt like a taboo, my childhood was filled with whispers of "you’re not enough." Those words shaped my reality, making me believe I had to prove myself—overcompensating, settling for the bare minimum, and silencing my inner voice.

But life has a way of bringing clarity. There came a moment when I looked at myself and thought:
“Dude, I am beautiful. I am no less. And I deserve no less.”

That realization wasn’t just about appearances; it was about knowing that my body is a temple. A sacred place where a free, creative spirit resides—beyond how I look or what the world tells me I should be. It’s about being free to explore, create, and love yourself without limits.

Through Kesariyavanity, I strive to create clothing that empowers this belief. Each piece is designed to make you feel at home in your skin—a reminder that you are worthy, just as you are.

Healing Together: Journal Prompts to Reconnect with Yourself

Self-love is a practice—it takes time, patience, and kindness. Here are a few questions to help you start reconnecting with your beautiful, unique self:

1. What Do You See in the Mirror?

  • What are three things you notice and love about yourself when you look in the mirror?
(Write them down and celebrate them.)

2. How Has Your Body Served You?

  • Think about all the times your body has carried you through hard days, joyful moments, and even times of illness. What would you thank it for?
(Write a letter of gratitude to your body.)

3. When Do You Feel Most Alive?

  • Think about a moment when you felt truly alive and free. Where were you? What were you wearing? Who were you with?
(Recreate that moment in your mind, and jot it down.)

4. How Can You Treat Your Body Like a Temple?

  • If your body is a home for your soul, how can you nurture it? List three ways you can show your body love today.

5. What Do You Want to Let Go Of?

  • Write down the beliefs about yourself that no longer serve you. Cross them out boldly. Then, write loving truths to replace them.

A Space for Reflection

This is a part of my story, but it could be yours too. Take a moment to reflect. After you're done journaling, share your favorite picture with me in my DMs https://www.instagram.com/storiesbyjyoti/ and tell me why it's special to you.

Here’s mine:
Dressed in white—not because white is pure and black is impure, but because I’m releasing the beliefs others placed on me. So I can fill my life with things of my own choice. The playful strokes of color on my cheeks remind me of the joy that comes when you embrace your inner child. Letting go of the world’s expectations allows us to rediscover the freedom to laugh, create, and play—because the little spark within us should never fade.

Why I Started Kesariyavanity

Kesariyavanity was born from my belief that what we wear matters—not because of how it looks, but how it makes us feel. Clothing should never be a mask; it should be an expression of who you truly are. Each piece we create is designed to remind you of your worth, your beauty, and your power. Because you are more than enough.
